The norm of fire safety certificate for the specified buildings will become more strictly enforceable after it becomes part of the DERC regulations, discom officials said.
A woman was rescued from a three-storey building in the East of Kailash area, and efforts are on to extinguish the flames. The third floor of the building caught fire on Thursday morning.
The fire incident in Prem Nagar created chaos in the area but the police and fire brigade teams reached there timely and controlled the situation. The police initiated a probe into the matter.

Delhi cabinet minister Atishi on Monday said the Ghazipur landfill fire incident will be investigated to ascertain the cause of the blaze. According to the Delhi Fire Service, the landfill witnessed a big fire on Sunday evening due to the gases produced in the massive mountain of waste.
Ghazipur landfill site fire: In a statement, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that as a result of the fire at the landfill site, smoke has engulfed the entire area, causing inconvenience to residents and businesses.
BJP MLA from Gandhi Nagar, Anil Bajpai, voiced his concern over the lack of a fire station in the area. I met the Lieutenant Governor in pursuance of this matter and the file is in process, he added.
The fire has been doused and the cooling process is underway. The blaze broke out in a recreational room of the house.

A thick layer of black smoke was spotted in the Alipur area creating panic among locals living near the factory. The police personnel and other officials rushed to the spot.
There was no report of injuries in the incident. However, the fire at the Wazirabad Delhi Police 'malkhana' led to the complete destruction of a significant number of vehicles.
The fire incident took place in ZP block, Pitampura, Delhi, which is a residential area. According to the fire brigade official, five people died in the incident.
