Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi today lashed out at BJP and accused the party of spreading hatred in the country.

Addressing an election rally Assam that goes to poll on April 7, Sonia said “Your vote will decide the nation's fate. Today two different ideologies are clashing. On one hand, Congress party has made several sacrifices for the nation, the BJP, On the other hand, is spreading hatred.”

“When people of Assam were struggling to save our country none of them (BJP) came forward. They have spent more time in weakening the country. What did BJP do when it was in power at the Centre? It's easy to talk big but what did they actually do? We have given RTI, Food Security Bill, and legal rights to the people. We have taken special care of SCs & STs,” added Sonia.

Sonia reiterated Congress party's slogan- Har haath shakti, Har haath tarraki – and reminded people that Congress has delivered on its promises.

“In order to reduce sufferings of old, sick and women, we have introduced several schemes. We do not make fake promises. We have fulfilled our promises and we will do it in future as well. We need your support for this,” added Sonia.
