Harish Rawat, former Uttarakhand CM and Congress leader, suffers chest injury after his car hits divider

Rawat, who is one of the tallest Congress leaders in Uttarakhand, served as the chief minister of the Himalayan state from 2014 to 2017. He is also a five-time Member of Parliament. After getting treatment at KVR Hospital, Kashipur, he was discharged from the hospital.

Harish Rawat, former Uttarakhand chief minister and senior Congress leader suffered a chest injury after his car hit a divider on Tuesday night. According to the initial reports, his car met with the accident after colliding with a divider while traveling from Haldwani to Kashipur.

The accident took place near Bazpur. His Fortuner car went out of control and collided with the highway divider.

The former CM was injured in the accident and his car was also badly damaged. As soon as the information was received, the police immediately took him to Bazpur CHC.

After first aid, he was referred to the Higher Center of Kashipur where the former CM was admitted to KVR Hospital. Two persons - Kamal and Ajay, who were traveling in the car, were also got injured in the accident. 

Meanwhile, the former CM was discharged from the hospital. After treatment, the Congress leader reached a hotel for rest.

Congress leaders reach the hospital

As soon as information was received about the former CM being injured in a road accident, Congress leaders from Kashipur, Bajpur and nearby areas also reached the hospital.
