After their arrival, the men are likely to offer prayers at the holiest of Sikh shrines, Harmandar Sahib (popularly known as Golden Temple), in Amritsar before heading to their respective homes.

The Indian men had all along maintained that they were not involved in the murder of the Pakistani national and that they had been framed.

Said S P Sabharwal on his return: "The Indian government did not help in paying the blood money. Government helped in the expenses for fighting the case in Sharjah and provided lawyer."

Soon after their arrival in Delhi, the 17 Indian nationals left for Darbar Sahib in Amritsar to pay their obeisance.

One of the released Indian youths said, it was all due to a quarrel which led to a fight. "We are all very happy on our return. We will go and meet our parents."

Minister of state for External Affairs Preneet Kaur played a vital role in the release of the Indian nationals from UAE.
