Rajasthan Election: Congress fields Jaswant Singh's son Manvendra, Gourav Vallabh in new list of candidates

The Congress party has disclosed its fourth list of candidates, including prominent names like national spokesperson Gourav Vallabh and Manvendra Singh, son of late BJP stalwart Jaswant Singh.

In preparation for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections, the Congress party unveiled its fourth list of candidates, naming 56 leaders who will contest various constituencies. Notable mentions in this list include national spokesperson Gourav Vallabh from Udaipur and Manvendra Singh, the son of the late BJP stalwart Jaswant Singh, who will represent Siwana.

With this latest announcement, the Congress has now declared 151 candidates for the polls scheduled for November 25 in the desert state. The party is determined to challenge the trend of incumbent governments being voted out in Rajasthan.

During an evening meeting of the party's Central Election Committee, potential candidates for the Rajasthan assembly were discussed. The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, AICC in-charge of the state Sukhjinder Randhawa, and the party's state unit chief Govind Dotasra.

Additional attendees at the Central Election Committee meeting included AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal, Rajasthan screening committee chief Gaurav Gogoi, and other members of the CEC. 

Polling to take place on November 25

The Election Commission of India (EC) on Monday announced that Rajasthan will go to polls on November 25 while the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
