Jadeja had sustained a thumb injury while batting in the first innings of the Sydney Test and was eventually ruled out for six weeks.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is out of the home Test series against England due to his left thumb injury that occured during the third Test in Sydney, reported Indian Express.

Jadeja has already been ruled out of the fourth and final Test against Australia which begins Friday at The Gabba in Brisbane.

Jadeja had incurred a blow on his left thumb while batting on day 3 of the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Jadeja was not able to bowl in Australia's second innings after a short ball from Mitchell Starc hit him on the gloves, requiring immediate medical attention.
