Chennai Super Kings bought England all-rounder Moeen Ali for Rs 7 crore in the IPL 2021 Auction.

Moeen, who has to return to India in February-end after a week with the family to join the team for the limited-overs leg of the tour, refused to change the plan

A total of 292 players have been enlisted for the shortened auctions -- 164 of them Indian and 125 overseas. 

Following a 317-run loss to India in Chennai on Tuesday, Root had said: "Moeen has chosen to go home. It’s obviously been a very tricky tour for him."

Ali will have to observe 10-day isolation in accordance with the Sri Lanka Government’s protocol.
