55 former ministers to lose official bungalows

New Delhi: After losing elections and power, about 55 former union ministers will have to vacate their official bungalows by June 26 to enable the new ones to move in.Sources said the Directorare of Estates

Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu today appealed to the former ministers to vacate their official residences on their own and set a good example.

“Outgoing ministers have to vacate their houses. I request the outgoing ministers to vacate at the earliest so that the new ministers can move in and settle down. They have their plans, puja and all this. They should vacate so that they set a good example to the people and there is no problem,” he said here.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already vacated the official 7,Race Course Road residence, and shifted to a new house allotted by the government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, however, is yet to move in to the official residence as it is being refurbished.
