Seven days after filing a complaint and handing over the IP addresses, the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell still has to revert to actress Meghna Naidu with the name of the hacker who sent obscene mails and chatted from her personal ID with her industry associates, reports HT City.Naidu now plans to approach higher authorities to speed up the investigation.

“My parents are really disturbed. I have yet to hear from the cyber crime cell even after a week with concrete information,“ says Naidu.

Dismissing rumours that this is a publicity stunt, she retorts, “I want people to be aware that what has happened with me can happen with them too. I'm not asking for a jail term but I want to know who was behind this move to malign my public image. It's unforgivable !” Ten days ago, the hacker hacked into Naidu's email account and chatted with her friends, expressing `her' point of view.

He told several of her contacts that she was “three months pregnant, following one of her flings.“ He added that “she couldn't remember the name of the person responsible for her pregnancy“ and “needed advice.“ It was her publicist who warned her that her ID had been hacked.Says Naidu, “I was paranoid when I checked my chat history in Gmail.

“The imposter had been chatting with all my friends and claimed I was pregnant. “He wrote random obscene messages to a lot of them who must be thinking that I had lost my mind. It was insane!“

She asserts that the cyber space is no longer safe. “I hope the cops take quick action and prevent such incidents from taking place.“
