When he was 8 years old he was caught molesting or having sex with a younger sister and was kicked out of his home and on the street.

Soon afterword, an older man took him in only to repeatedly sodomize him before returning him to the streets.

He soon began stealing cars and was eventually arrested for it. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison where he said he was gang raped by four men.

He killed all four men with a knife and was given 2 extra years. It was considered self defense. It is most likely that during this time in prison that his hatred/fear of women, his mother and love of pornography began to shape the monster he was about to become. He was released in 1978.

Upon his release he traveled extensively around Peru. He began raping and murdering young girls from various indian tribes.

He claims at least 100 by this point during this time. While trying to abduct a 9 year old girl from one of these tribes, the Ayacuchos, he was caught.

They tortured him and were going to bury him alive when an American missionary convinced them to let them turn him over to the Peruvian authorities. For some reason, those authorities only deported him back to Ecuador.

In 1980 a flash flood uncovered the bodies of 4 young girls in Ambato, Ecuador. No cause of death could be determined but it was obvious that foul play was involved and that the bodies had been hidden.

It was just a handful of days after this flood that Pedro was caught trying to abduct the 12 year old daughter of Carvina Poveda, was shopping at a local marketplace. He was chased down and handed over to authorities.

Pedro Alonso López confessed to killing 100 young girls in Ecuador, another 100 in Columbia and more than 100 more in Peru.

He said that he would search for his victims in the daytime so as to not seem evil. He was so sure of himself that he would approach them in a crowd.
