Verdict: The Audi A3 is a good car that justifies its ratings. It's a good-to-drive, grown-up hatchback. So rich, pleasant and comfortable is its cabin, and so flexible and efficient its powertrain, that it one of the best in its category. The new A3 may be costly but it provides a very enjoyable drive, much improved handling and superb engines, especially the 1.8 TFSI and 1.6 TDI.
