10. Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2

Price: Rs 9649 (As on Saholic.com)

For Rs 9649, the Micromax A110- Canvas 2 is a value-for-money proposition.

The front panel of the A110- Canvas 2 borrows many design cues from the Galaxy Nexus. The phone's build is plastic and has a matte finish back panel that keeps the device clean and smudge free. On the front panel, the phone has three capacitive buttons, for Home, Menu and Back respectively. On the top left is the blinking LED for notifications and on the right is the front camera.

The device has a 5-inch LCD display, with offers a low resolution of 854 x 480, thus making images, icons, etc. lose their sharpness. At least an HD resolution would have been appreciated. The large display is good for those who want to watch movies, video and play games on their phone. The screen, however, doesn't appear to be of a very good quality due to poor viewing angles.

The device is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM along with 4GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB with microSD card.

The Micromax Canvas A110 has a 8 mega pixel rear camera that takes decent pictures. The videos are shot at a maximum of 720p HD resolution. The quality of the videos shot are okay and is fine for casual photography.

The Micromax Canvas A 110 comes with pre-loaded Android 4.0.4, and the interface is pretty much untouched except the little odd tweaks.

Micromax has pre-loaded some third party trial games including its own bloatware like Hookup (similar to Whatsapp), M! Zone, M! Buddy and M! Store. The phone supports 3G video calling natively, which is a welcome addition as other Android smartphones usually did not have 3G video calling feature.

The Canvas 2 comes fitted with a 2000mAh battery pack, which is clearly not enough to power such a huge screen for the entire day. Overall, it seems to be a decent buy.
