Police officials decline to give consent for polygraph test

Suri (WB): Two police officials on whom Special Investigating Team (SIT) wanted to carry out a polygraph test to unravel the mystery behind the death of the father of a rebel Trinamool Congress leader yesterday declined to give their consent for the test.


The SIT on April 11 applied before a local court here for polygraph test on the then OC of Panrui police station Sampat Mukherjee and an Sub-Inspector Dwijaraj Sahana.

The duo appeared in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate here and expressed their 'inability' to give consent for the teast on medical ground. The court had accepted the application of SIT and fixed a date for the appearance of those two officers.

Sagar Ghosh, father of Hriday Ghosh, a rebel Trinamool leader, was killed on the eve of panchayat polls last year.

The Ghosh family alleged that the two officers of Panrui police station had forced them to sign on blank papers which was later registered as "complaints".
