Lok Sabha Elections 2024: TMC booth president clashes with BJP candidate in Bengal's Murshidabad | VIDEO

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 3: The elections are being held in four Lok Sabha constituencies--Maldaha Uttar, Maldaha Dakshin, Jangipur and Murshidabad. A total of 73,37,651 voters, including 36,12,395 women and 154 third-genders are eligible to exercise their franchise in 7,360 polling stations.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: A clash occurred between a TMC booth president Gautam Ghosh and BJP candidate Dhananjay Ghosh at a polling booth in Jangipur in West Bengal's Murshidabad during the third phase of Lok Sabha elections. Ghosh is a contestant from Jangipur representing the BJP.

Allegations of influencing voters were raised against Trinamool in the Jangipur Lok Sabha constituency. Gautam Ghosh engaged in a heated exchange with the BJP candidate during a conversation. The contentious discussion occurred at booth number 44 of the Mirgram Primary School, with both the BJP candidate and the block Trinamool president Gautam Ghosh present.

'Trinamool president threatening me'

Speaking to media persons, the BJP candidate claimed, "I came here as a candidate and I am witnessing a block Trinamool president threatening me within a hundred meters of the booth. If a candidate can be treated like this, what can happen to common people? We will complain about this to the Election Commission."

On the other hand, the TMC is also filing complaints against the BJP candidate for purportedly intimidating and assaulting their block president. Moreover, allegations suggest he threatened with the assistance of CRPF personnel.

Who is Dhananjay Ghosh?

Dhananjay Ghosh is a contestant from West Bengal representing the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Jangipur. Ghosh, aged 39, is 10th Pass in terms of his education record. He has six cases against him. Financially, Ghosh possesses total assets or net worth of Rs 63.3 lakh with Rs 12.1 lakh movable assets and Rs 51.2 lakh immovable assets. He has Rs 0 in liabilities. Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase3 

The elections are being conducted in four Lok Sabha constituencies: Maldaha Uttar, Maldaha Dakshin, Jangipur, and Murshidabad. A total of 73,37,651 voters, comprising 36,12,395 women and 154 third-gender individuals, are eligible to cast their votes across 7,360 polling stations.

Murshidabad will witness a key contest between senior CPI(M) leader Mohammed Salim, TMC's Abu Taher Khan and BJP nominee Gouri Shankar Ghosh.

In Maldaha Uttar, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has nominated former IPS officer Prasun Banerjee, while the Congress has awarded the ticket to veteran leader Mostaque Alam, and the BJP has selected Khagen Murmu as its candidate.

In Maldaha Dakshin, the BJP has fielded Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury, the Congress has nominated Isha Khan Choudhury, and the TMC has put forward Shahnawaz Ali Raihan.

In Jangipur, Khalilur Rahaman from the TMC is competing against BJP's Dhananjay Ghosh and Congress' Khalilur Rahaman.
