Hanuman Beniwal is the founder of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Nagaur. In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Beniwal won the Nagaur constituency by defeating Congress candidate Jyoti Mirdha with a big margin of 1,81,260 votes. He was backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019 as his party was part of the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He left the NDA in 2020 due to his protest against three farm bills. Beniwal won his first Assembly Election from Khinwsar as the BJP candidate in 2008 when he defeated Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Durg Singh by 24,443 votes. Beniwal was later suspended by the BJP in 2013 over his allegations against some party leaders. However, Beniwal won the election as an independent candidate in 2013 and retained his Khinwsar seat by defeating BSP and BJP candidates. In the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly polls, Beniwal contested as an RLP candidate for the first time and won the Khinwsar again by defeating Congress candidate Savai Singh Chaudhary and BJP's Ramchandra Utta. In the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly Elections, Beniwal again won the Khinwsar seat by defeating BJP's Rewant Ram Danga with a margin of over 2,000 votes. Beniwal is again contesting from the Nagaur Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 polls against Jyoti Mirdha who is with the BJP now. Beniwal is backed by the Congress party this time.
