Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday appointed Mohan Markam head of the party's Chhattisgarh unit, replacing Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
At a meeting with the retired defence personnel, the Congress president said that if his party is voted to power in the 2019 parliamentary election, it will fulfil their demands, including 'one rank, one pension'.
A viral video of the explosion shows Rahul, flanked by PCC chief Kamal Nath and MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, rolling down Model Road in Jabalpur when a bunch of balloons erupt into a fireball.
Rahul Gandhi accused the PM Modi dispensation of not listening to its views while implementing the new tax regime in July 2017.
Highlighting the issue of "tainted candidates", the Gandhi scion tweeted a video titled "Karnataka's Most Wanted" with a stinging message for PM Modi saying that his actions do not match his words.
With massive outrage across sectors and party lines, there is a growing demand that the Prime Minister should speak up on the entire episode.
