IND beat THAI by 74 runs

The Indian team emerged victorious by 74 runs in the first semi final here in Sylhet. A completely dominant performance, and one that the fans would have expected playing against a minnow side. The surface was tricky and the Indian team played with a positive mindset. They looked to score runs and ended with a plus-par total of 148. Cannot blame Thailand as they were outclassed by a strong Indian side in both departments. Coming into the chase, Thailand batters could not play with a positive mindset and were yet again blown away by the Indian bowling attack. So, India reach the finals for the eighth time. They will play against the winner of the second semifinal- Pakistan vs Sri Lanka. Is another India vs Pakistan loading? We shall find that out soon. Till then, I Varun Malik bid goodbye. Thanks for joining.

    IND set for big win

The Indian team is taking wickets at regular intervals while the Thai batters don't have answers for the Indian bowlers. India look set for a big win.

    Mid innings report, THAI 33/4

This has been India's first half. The bowlers have bowled well and exploited the surface as Thai batters look flat. The Thai side has not been able to score runs and has also lost many wickets. This shall be easy for the Indian team.

    THAI lose early wickets

Thailand have been jolted at the start. Not what they would have wanted. Four wickets down and the Indian bowling line-up is proving to be too hot for the Thai batters again.

    THAI begin chase

Thailand begin their chase as the two openers Nannapat Koncharoenkai and Natthakan Chantham make their way out in the middle. Thailand need a good start and a good powerplay to put pressure on India. Meanwhile, the women in blue need to bowl with discipline and take benefit from the surface. Deepti Sharma and Rajshwari Gayakwad begin India's proceedings.

    IND finish 148 runs

The Indian cricket team has finished on 148 runs in the first innings. Thailand bowled decently but this looks like a good total on this surface. Shafali started well and took the charge before she was caught at short mid-wicket. The pair of Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur kept the run flow going but were sent back. Not many runs in the last five overs, something the women in blue would have wanted to have in their favour. The pitch is not looking very good to bat on and India would surely back themselves to defend this one. Back in a moment.

    Half Indian side down

132 runs on the board and half of the Indian side is back to the hut in the 18th over. Kaur went for the slog sweep, but could not find the elevation and a good catch at deep mid wicket.

    IND three down

Thailand have scalped the third wicket in the form of Jemimah Rodrigues. She wanted to keep the flow of runs going but could not time it well. Lofted towards long on and the fielder easily holds this one. The partnership was looking good but has been broken.

    Mid innings report, IND 73/2

A mixed first inning for India. They started carefully but lost Smriti first. The pitch has something good for the bowlers and Thai players have got some moments in the game. Shafali looked brilliant but has been caught in the 10th over. At this stage, India still looks ahead, considering the surface. Interesting middle phase and death overs awaits us.

    Both openers sent back

Thailand women strike again and this time it's the set Shafali Verma, who walks back. This looked like a well-set plan by the Thai women. Sornnarin Tippoch came to bowl her first over with a short mid-wicket in place. Flighted delivery, on off, Shafali came down the track. She could not hit that well and a good sharp catch by captain Chaiwai.

    IND 47/1 after 6 overs

A good start for the Indian team. This is not looking like a very good pitch to bat on at this stage. The bowlers have created opportunities and have tasted success by sending Southpaw Smriti Mandhana. However, the batters have so far played well. Shafali has counter-attacked and is looking very good. The crucial middle phase now.

    IND lose 1st, Smriti falls

India have lost their first wicket in the form of Smriti Mandhana. She came down the track to play this but the ball probably did not come well onto the bat. Went straight towards the mid on and an easy catch for Onnicha Kamchomphu. Jemimah Rodrigues walks out to bat.

    IND start carefully

The Indian team is off to a good and careful start in this semifinal. The pitch is looking a bit tricky with patches helping the bowlers. Also, the ball is not coming well on the bat. But the openers are negotiating this well.

Hello and Welcome. The Indian women team is facing Thailand in the first semifinal and the openers- Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana are out in the middle. Nattaya Boochatham begin THAI's proceedings.
