Alka Lamba is the Congress leader and a former member of the Delhi Assembly from Chandni Chowk. Lamba contested her first Assembly election from the Moti Nagar seat in 2003 against former Delhi Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart Madan Lal Khurana but lost to him by 15,190 votes. She joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) later and won the Chandni Chowk constituency by defeating BJP's Suman Kumar Gupta in the 2015 Delhi Assembly Election by 18,287 votes. She, however, returned to the Congress and fought the 2020 polls from Chandni Chowk but stood third with a humiliating defeat as she received just 5.03% of the votes. Lamba has been pitted against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election from Kalkaji.
