Shahid Kapoor has wrapped up the shooting of his forthcoming film Kabir Singh, co-starring Kiara Advani. The movie directed by Sandeep Vanga is Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. The original flick starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey was also directed by Vanga. Now, the actor has shared the latest poster of the movie announcing his release date.

In the fresh poster, Shahid's character Kabir Singh is smoking two cigarettes, with a stethoscope hanging around his neck. The poster is basically a silhouette of Shahid with messy hair. ''Find the #kabirsingh within you,'' he captioned the tweet. The teaser of the movie will release on April 8, Monday.

Shahid started shooting last year. The movie has been shot in Mussoorie and Delhi. The actor called the remake stressful in an interview with IANS. He said, “I am having a great time. I think Kabir Singh is very special and Arjun Reddy was amazing. As such it’s very stressful making the remake, especially when it has been loved so much.”

Calling the film raw and honest, Shahid said, “I don’t think there was anything in the film that was for effect. I just felt it said things as it is and was a brazen journey of a character who goes through an emotional arc that is extreme.”

Kabir Singh is the journey of a medical student who starts walking on the path of self-destruction after his girlfriend marries another man. The movie is set to hit theatres on June 21.

Here are some behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets of Kabir Singh.

On a related note, Shahid was last seen in Shree Narayan Singh's Batti Gul Meter Chalu, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. The movie tanked at the box office.
