"Majority of the children hailed from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. They were getting anything between Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 a month," he said.

The rescued children would be taken to rehabilitation centres in the city and their parents would be notified, police said, adding that the accused would be produced before a local court today.
