The veteran actor Om Puri, who breathed his last on January 2017, will be seen in tomorrow’s release Tubelight. The late actor had completed the shooting for the Salman Khan film before his demise. Now, his first wife Seema Kapoor has come to the forefront to speak about Om Puri’s role in the film.
In an interview with Spotboye, Seema revealed that Om Puri was excited about his role. “Om was very kicked about his role, especially his get-up. He used to often ask me about his look. We both felt he looks like freedom fighter Maulana Azad in Tubelight,” Seema told the daily.
She also revealed she would watch Tubelight because of Om Puri. “Yes, I will see Tubelight soon because it has Om in it. Frankly, I see Om everyday,” she said.
Besides Salman, Tubelight also stars Sohail Khan, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Matin Rey Tangu and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu in lead roles. Tubelight hits cinema houses tomorrow. It is an adaptation of 2015 film Little Boy. Helmed by Kabir Khan, the film is based against the backdrop of the Indo-China war.
Filmmaker Kabir Khan, whose earlier films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ek Tha Tiger, New York and Kabul Express were mainly focused on political conflicts and how that affects humanity said that though he is aware that a film cannot bring any change in a society, he believes the power of cinema can leave a deep impact on the human mind.
