Katihar: A man was on Friday beaten to death by his own sibling in Bihar's Katihar district, a police officer said.

Md Irshad (28) was attacked by his elder brother Md Taufiq with an iron rod following an argument between the two over land dispute between them at their house in Kumaripur Mir, Manihari police station in charge Ranjan Singh said.

Irshad sustained grievous injuries after being hit with iron rod by his brother and died on the spot, Singh said, adding the body has been sent for post-mortem.

The assailant managed to escape after murdering his brother, the police officer said, adding raids were being carried out to nab the accused.
