Several houses in forward areas have been damaged in firing and shelling by Pak troops, which has been going on for the past four consecutive nights, he said.

Those injured have been identified as Mohammed Raqib, son of Saidullah, a resident of Sandot village in Mendhar, and Mohamed Qafeel, son of Mohammed Hafeeez, resident of Basooni village, Mankot.

Panic-stricken people in several forward aras along LoC spent sleepless nights in view of heavy firing and shelling by Pak troops.

Indian troops are on full alert and their morale is very high, said brigade commander Gupta.

A report from Islamabad quoted Pakistani army sources as alleging that Indian Army shelled civilian areas on the Pakistani side of the ceasefire line in Nakyal sector in Pak-occupied Kashmir on Sunday.

The report quoting local residents and military sources said, no loss of life was reported. The shelling forced many residents to leave the area in search of refuge elsewhere, said a local resident in Nakyal sector.

Meanwhile, a  Pakistani military official dismissed suggestions by an Indian Army officer that Pakistan Army was planning to escalate attacks across the LoC. He said Pakistan was fully committed to the 2003 ceasefire agreement.

The Indian Army on Sunday said, it had intelligence that Pakistan Army's Border Action Team (BAT) will escalate attacks along the LoC.

“There are inputs that they (BAT) are going to try something,” said Brigadier A Sengupta, commander of India's 120th Infantry Brigade.
