Luka Chuppi Box Office Collection Day 5: Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon’s film maintains grip, earns Rs 45.07 crore

Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon are spreading all the love and joy with their latest Bollywood offering Luka Chuppi, which hit the screens last Friday. Defeating its competitor Son Chiriya at the box-office, the comedy drama is creating havoc all over. Earning a decent Rs 5.04 crore on Tuesday, Luka Chuppi Box Office Collection now stands at Rs 45.07 crore after its five-day run.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#LukaChuppi maintains a firm grip on Day 5... The trending is very good, considering Day 3 [Sun] and Day 4 [Mon; partial holiday] were super-strong... Fri 8.01 cr, Sat 10.08 cr, Sun 14.04 cr, Mon 7.90 cr, Tue 5.04 cr. Total: ₹ 45.07 cr. India biz”.

Luka Chuppi is Kartik Aaryan's biggest opening film till now.  2015's Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 had opened at Rs. 6.80 crore, last year's Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety earned Rs. 6.42 crore on Day 1 while his debut film Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which released in 2011, collected Rs. 92 lakh when it first opened in the theatres.

Luka Chuppi is produced by Dinesh Vijan, whose last movie Stree was one of the most acclaimed movies of 2018. It had done extremely well at the box office as well.

Talking about the success of the film, producer Dinesh Vijan, who backed the film under his production house Maddock films said, “The only constant ingredient is change! Being able to back stories that maybe don’t have a reference point. With all of our films, there wasn’t a film which seemed similar to another one. People thought I was crazy to introduce zombies, make Varun Dhawan a dark hero, make a horror comedy, or talk about live-in relationships with the whole family! but it all worked out. Audiences are evolved and exposed to so much content, that we must strive to make interesting stories but still retain the commercial sensibilities they are used to."
