Boston, Jun 13: A lawyer for the longtime girlfriend of U.S. mobster James “Whitey” Bulger has filed a notice saying she will appeal her conviction.
Catherine Greig was sentenced to eight years in prison Tuesday for helping Bulger evade capture for more than 16 years.
Greig had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to harbor a fugitive, identity fraud and conspiracy to commit identity fraud.
Attorney Kevin Reddington on Wednesday filed a one-paragraph notice of appeal in U.S. District Court.
Bulger is awaiting trial for allegedly participating in 19 murders.
