The accused, Dutta Kothawale, had threatened the woman that if she does not adhere to his demands he will circulate the MMS.
The accused is a security official of the Tulsidas Gopalji charitable trust who used to extort money from the vendors operating near the trust office.
One day he saw the victim and on the pretext of demolishing her shop he raped her and filmed the incident.
The crime went on for almost 6-months after which the lady narrated the whole incident to her brother who informed the police.
Dutta has been booked under section 376 of Indian Penal Code for rape and various sections of the Information Technology Act.
