Four fire tenders are at the spot trying to control the blaze. No report of anyone being injured in the fire has been received so far.
The 33-storey high-rise building is home to several famous personalities, including Bollywood star Deepika Padukone.
The fire broke out at about 4 am on the ground floor and quickly spread all over the 5-storey Kothari building, also known as the Light of Asia.

Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire, which started from a chemical factory. The blaze had reportedly engulfed two nearby factories too.
As per initial reports, eight fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to control the blaze.
As soon as reports of the fire were conveyed to the fire brigade, around 12 vehicles were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
The 30-year-old hotelier was on the run along with co-owners of the pub, Kripesh Sanghavi and Jigar Sanghavi, since the day of the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Sakina A. Kapasi, Mohsin A. Kapasi, Tasleem A. Kapasi and a senior citizen, Dawood Ali Kapasi.
Both Lopez and Bawa were present in the pub when the blaze occurred in the early hours of December 29, but fled without helping the guests.
