According to an official, the incident was reported at 8:21 pm on the fifth and sixth floors of the 21-storey building.

Two killed in Andheri fire 

A level-2 fire broke out in a residential high-rise on Veera Desai road in Mumbai’s suburban Andheri on Tuesday evening, an official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said. The incident took place on the 10th and 11th floors of Kadam Chawl SRA building, near Oberoi Tower.

Three persons were rescued by the fire brigade personnel, while another person was missing, said an official of the Disaster Management Cell of the BMC.

People residing on the fourth and seventh floors were evacuated as a precautionary measure, the official said.

Five fire engines and four jumbo water tankers have been pressed into service and the fire is now under control, he added.

Cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
