New Delhi, Sept 9 : "A middle-aged man wearing a safari suit came from behind, jumped the queue and crossed over to the senior citizens queue, where he placed a briefcase and quickly left. By the time people realised something suspicious and raised an alarm, the briefcase exploded", said a resident of east Delhi who was standing in the queue at the Reception Centre of delhi High Court, reports Indian Express.
The name of the witness is being withheld to protect his identity. It was on his version that the Delhi Police prepared one of the two sketches.
He said: "He was a little ahead of me. He came from behind, jumped the queue and crossed over to the senior citizens' queue. While crossing over, he placed the briefcase in between. People realised there was something suspicious and raised an alarm but a minute later, the briefcase exploded.”
A Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) policeman standing near the senior citizens' queue told The Indian Express that he heard people say “ye suitcase kiska hai” before it exploded.
The second sketch was based on the version provided by a woman in her mid-twenties who said that a man was trying to get in the women's queue and “when he was asked what was he up to, he started an argument.” He later moved to the men's queue, she said.
Meanwhile, both the Delhi Police and the national Investigation Agency are yet to make any big headway in the ongoing probe, with the latter focussing on the Kashmir connection of the terrorists.Police have detained five persons in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir and one in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the blast.
It may be recalled that the bomb blasts and firing in the recent past in Delhi, which occurred outside the Jama Masjid and in Mehrauli, remain unsolved till date.
