Apart from body building what brought them closer was their individual understanding and experience of their troubled life.

Salman didn't know that Sanjay would feel insulted. So when at Maanyata Dutt's birthday party Salman picked up hints of Sanjay's negative reaction over proposal, he felt upset and decided to scrap out the entire role saying, 'If Sanjay won't do it, nobody else would do it'.
