Sushilamma says, she used to caution her husband not to show the necklace to unknown buyers, and keep it in a bank locker or show it to reputed jewellers.

A gang member along with six others fixed a meeting with Singh on Tuesday afternoon. Suddenly, the gang members grabbed the necklace and stabbed Singh to death. Singh's dogs barked alerting the neighbours, who called policemen standing near a school.

Policemen surrounded the house, the gang members threw the necklace inside the house and ran up the terrace. Police caught Madhu, Satish and Dilip, all natives of Mysore, while four others managed to escape.

The necklace is presently in police custody. Police is trying to nab the other four members of the gang.
