It was when Tharoor came back to the hotel at around 8:15 pm that he learnt his wife was still asleep, and went there to check. He found her dead in her bed, informed his personal secretary Abhinav Kumar, who rang up the police at 8:30 pm.

By that time, rigor mortis had set in, as the lady was dead for nearly four hours, say sources.

A top team of doctors at AIIMS has been conducted who will conduct the post mortem today. The body was sent to AIIMS mortuary late after midnight.
