The national capital Wednesday recorded the hottest day of the season so far, with the temperature soaring to sweltering 43 degrees in some parts of the city.
Delhi woke up to a humid Monday morning, with a minimum temperature of 20.2 degrees Celsius. Humidity was recorded at 74 per cent.
As per the IMD forecast, the minimum temperature is set to rise by 3-4 degrees Celsius Friday onwards due to clouds covering the sky.
The minimum temperature is likely to dip to three degrees Celsius after December 28, the official said. A heavy blanket of fog engulfed the national capital in the morning on Tuesday with visibility dropping to 50 metres.
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said unfavourable meteorological conditions are likely to keep the air quality in the severe category for the next couple of days.

According to the Met Department, the heat wave conditions, which currently grip parts of Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, will continue towards Sunday, June 24.

A severe weather warning has been issued for the western Himalayan region of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh for Sunday and Monday.
The threat of the thunderstorm, which has wreaked havoc over parts of 15 states, is yet to be over.

The weather department has forecast a spell of rain/thunderstorm, accompanied with squall, in the national capital late in the evening on Monday. It said the wind speed might go up to 50-70 kilometers per hour.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 21.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, while humidity levels oscillated between 47 per cent and 13 per cent.
Also rail and road services have been badly affected. As many as 20 trains have been rescheduled, while 15 others coming to the national capital cancelled. A total of 56 trains have also been delayed today due to poor visibility.
At least nine trains were cancelled and 26 were delayed due to fog in several parts of northern India, while two trains were rescheduled.
