The Visnagar Court pronounced Hardik Patel guilty in a case related to vandalising BJP legislator Rushikesh Patel's office in 2015.

Hardik Patel told reporters in Rajkot that Rupani has already resigned after being asked to do during a Cabinet meeting. He went on to add that Rupani would be replaced by either a Patidar or Rajput leader.

Hardik’s claims were rubbished by the chief minister who said these claims were nothing but “lies” and “false rumours”.  Rupani  also added that he will complete his five-year term.  

Hardik Patel had pledged support with the Congress for the Gujarat polls held in last December.

Patel was not specific in use of the term President's rule but he apparently meant the non-NDA governments would be destabilized if Modi remains in power after the next general elections.

"I have clearly said that if the Narendra Modi government comes to power after the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 then it will invite President's rule in the country," Patel said.

"She openly offered me to join Trinamool Congress," Patel said after meeting Banerjee at the state Secretariat on Friday evening.

Hardik Patel, who has often clashed with the Sangh Parivar on a number of issues, said a number of groups are under threat under the present government.

The complaint says that although permission was granted for organising an educational and farmers' welfare event at Dhutarpar village, it turned out to be a "political" programme with Hardik delivering the speech.

Accusing unknown AAP party members of being insecure of Kumar Vishwas' stature, Patel said if he is not nominated, the party will miss an opportunity.

Lalji Patel, whose Sardar Patel Group was at the forefront of the Patidar quota agitation, along with the Hardik Patel-led Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti, met Nitin Patel in Gandhinagar.

"I and my supporters are prepared to talk to the Congress leadership to welcome Nitin Patel in the party if he and 10 other MLAs are willing to resign and come," Hardik Patel said.

Hardik Patel claimed he was willing to recommend to the Congress leadership to "accommodate Nitinbhai in a senior position" in the party and that he should come with "at least 10 MLAs".

Hardik pointed out that due to EVM tampering, the winning margin was very less in many places including Surat, Rajkot and Ahmedabad.

"A company in Ahmedabad has prepared to hack the source code of 5000 EVMs through 140 engineers," alleged Patel in a tweet on Saturday night.
