Honeypreet Insan's mother says Rakhi Sawant 'defamed' her daughter, slaps Rs 5 crore notice

"I realised that Honeypreet was uncomfortable seeing my close proximity with Gurmeet and even feared that I may become her 'sautan' (lover's wife) by marrying him," Rakhi had said.

Honeypreet Insan's mother Asha on Thursday claimed that actor Rakhi Sawant defamed her daughter by linking her to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and asked her to tender an apology within 30 days or pay Rs 5 crore. A legal notice in this regard was sent through advocate Momin Malik.

Sawant will star as the disgraced Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief's adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan in a biopic  "Ab Hoga Insaaf". "I realised that Honeypreet was uncomfortable seeing my close proximity with Gurmeet and even feared that I may become her 'sautan' (lover's wife) by marrying him," Rakhi had said. 

Honeypreet aka Priyanka Taneja, the controversial adopted daughter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, was arrested on October 3 after remaining fugitive for 38 days after the August 25 Panchkula violence while Ram Rahim has been in jail since August 25 when he was convicted by the CBI court in Panchkula on two counts of rape of female disciples in 1999. He was then sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of over Rs 30 lakh.
