New Delhi: Facebook has decided to improve the quality of news that appears in your News Feed.
The updates will emphasis shared news posts over meme (e.g. humourous cat) photos in users' News Feed ranking.
"Today's update to News Feed ranking recognizes that people want to see more relevant news and what their friends have to say about it," the Facebook update states.
The company has also tweaked its 'bumping' algorithm to bring back old news stories with new comments highlighted in an attempt to promote more discussion among the poster's friends.
