Nirnay Kapoor
Nirnay Kapoor is a veteran Indian journalist currently serving as the Sr. Associate Editor and Bureau Chief for India TV in Gujarat. With over three decades of experience in the media industry, he has become one of the most recognisable faces in regional reporting, particularly known for his extensive coverage of Gujarat's political and social landscape. Kapoor's reporting style often blends rigorous ground journalism with a unique personal philosophy; he describes himself as a "spiritual person of scientific temper" and a "myth buster". His work spans a wide array of topics, from high-stakes investigative reports on crime and fraud to in-depth features on indigenous defense technologies like Kamikaze drones.Beyond his television presence, he is an active contributor to digital news, frequently publishing articles and exclusive stories on national developments. In a time when the challenge of making people make aware and act as per societal issues, Kapoor took on a new passion—doing stories about organ donation and celebrate the organ donors and their families. He has been instrumental in promoting, organising and ensuring that common people understand and act to lessen the pain and suffering of thousands of patients in need of organ transplant. At the same time thousands of organs are not able to get harvested from patients on life support system. He also engages in educational outreach, delivering guest lectures at various journalism institutions, where he mentors aspiring journalists on the importance of observation skills and overcoming language barriers in communication. Known for his mantra "Pressure is a Privilege," Kapoor remains a prominent figure in modern Indian broadcast journalism.
