Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) issued a statement regarding the incident claiming the death of four farmers and alleged that one of the four farmers was shot dead by Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni's son.
Following the Lakhimpur violence incident, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who was en route to the Uttar Pradesh district was detained from Hargaon on Monday, claimed the party's youth wing national president Srinivas BV on Monday.

As many as eight people died in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident on Sunday, said Uttar Pradesh police.
The farmers agitating against the three laws have intensified their protests against the leaders of the ruling BJP-JJP combine in Haryana.
The 2022 UP Assembly elections will be fought on the agenda of development as the opposition does not have any issues, Sharma said.

Other political parties in Punjab too demanded the registration of a case against those who "crushed farmers to death".
Infuriated farmers set three jeeps on fire after some of the protestors were run over by the vehicles. One of the vehicles belongs to Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home, Ajay Mishra Teni.
Speaking to India TV, Union Minister Ajay Mishra said that stones were pelted on the convoy, BJP workers were attacked, and a driver was lynched in the violence. He also alleged that there were some anti-national elements among farmers who somehow wants to create unrest in the country.
While leaving Ghazipur on the Delhi-Ghaziabad border for Lakhimpur Kheri, Tikait, the BKU’s national spokesperson, claimed that “several farmers” are feared dead during the violence in which two vehicles were also allegedly set on fire.
Rahul Gandhi said those who remain silent even after Sunday's incident in Lakhimpur Kheri are already dead and underlined that the sacrifice of farmers will not go in vain.

Farmers are set to protest outside the houses of MPs, MLAs and other leaders in Haryana today. Earlier on Thursday, Haryana BKU (Chaduni) chief Gurnam Singh Chaduni had said farmers would protest if the state government fails to begin paddy procurement on October 1. Chaduni said that the Centre has postponed the paddy procurement from October 1 to October 11.
Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has directed the RPF chairman to immediately comply with the order and withdraw the police cases against protesting farmers.
