What has NCERT changed about Godse and Gandhi?
The statement of NCERT Chief come after some controversies arose over certain content related to Mahatma Gandhi's assassination being dropped from its textbooks without any notification.
NCERT has removed several texts on Mahatma Gandhi, Hindu-Muslim unity and RSS from CBSE Class 12 Political Science textbook for the new academic session 2023-24.
The government has removed the chapter of history of the Mughal period and the work done during the Congress governments after independence from the history syllabus in the intermediate. It was claimed that now the children of our country will not read the history of the Mughal period.

As per the reports, the NCERT has removed the chapters and topics related to ‘Kings and Chronicles; the Mughal Courts (C. 16th and 17th centuries)’ from the history book.
The NCERT textbooks for all grades will be revised in accordance with National Curriculum Framework, officials said.
