This is not the first time Krunal has tried to give warning to the opposition batsman for 'Mankad'. In the match against Kings XI Punjab, the 28-year-old did the same with their middle-order batsman Mayank Agarwal.

The cricketing world was involved in a serious debate when Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin 'Mankaded' Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler in Indian Premier League match.

A similar could have taken place, but it was all in fun and games as Mumbai Indians' allrounder Krunal Pandya tried to replicate the same with Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but it was just a warning call by the off-spinner during the high-voltage IPL clash on Wednesday.

It was during the 14th over of CSK's innings when Krunal gave Dhoni a light warning, but known for his crazy cricket antics, the former Indian skipper already knew his intentions and he didn't leave the crease and the elder Pandya couldn't even signal anything to him.

This is not the first time Krunal has tried to give warning to the opposition batsman for 'Mankad'. In the match against Kings XI Punjab, the 28-year-old did the same with their middle-order batsman Mayank Agarwal.

Earlier Krunal, had a decent show with bat against the defending champions as he played a crucial knock of 42 runs and was involved in 72-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav to set up a total of 170/5 for the defending champions.

The title holders made a poor start in the run chase by losing their top three batsmen – Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina within the power play period, with just 33 on the board.

For MI, Lasith Malinga and Hardik Pandya bagged three wickets apiece while Jason Behrendorff secured two.
