12:20pm – Modi: On one hand the farmer is working hard but because of govt's lack of efforts, grains are rotting and poor are hungry. We can change this. What you and I understand about welfare of farmers, those in Delhi don't. This is my point- why don't they understand these basics?
12:15pm – Modi: You can't grow food grains in offices among piece of papers. Do our farmers produce to fill their stomachs? No. Farmer works day in and day out so that the nation is fed and no one starves. Our Government in Delhi is such that they don't have facilities to store the grains produced by farmers even as poor people are starving.
12:10pm – Modi: Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the slogan of Jai Jwan, Jai Kisan but the govt has forgotten farmers. After the call of Shastri ji, the nation began to work hard and we produced record grains. We also stopped importing food. There is no awareness about agriculture departments at both centre and states. There is not awareness about agricultural universities. There is no coordination either. There is no proper system for food preservation. Who is responsible for rotten food grains and people dying out of starvation?
12:07pm- Modi: Farmers of this land are very hardworking. The farmers want to learn and innovate. We invited progressive farmers from all over India to Gujarat. 12 People came from this district too. Delhi should have honoured the progressive farmers but they are not bothered. We had the privilege of honouring the farmers from here.
