Sridevi death anniversary: How legendary actress ruled South cinemas before stepping into Bollywood

February 24 marks the black day in  Bollywood as the industry one of its legends Sridevi to accidental drowning in Dubai.  Remembering the legendary actress, let's have a look at how Sridevi ruled the South Indian industry before making it big in Bollywood.

Sridevi was only four years old when she made her debut in Thunaivan.

For her role as Sarada in Malayalam film Poompatta in 1971, she won the Kerala state award for best child artiste.

Sridevi was paired opposite Rajinikanth in Moondru Mudichu. This 1976 film is one of the most remembered and classic films down South.

Playing a 16-year-old village girl in 16 Vayathinile, a young Sridevi stole everyone's hearts with her excellent performance.

The 1978 film Sigappu Rojakkal saw Sridevi play Kamal Haasan's love interest in the murder mystery.
