The ASDMA said over 4.48 lakh people have been affected in Hojai, Karbi Anglong West, Golaghat, Karimganj, Hailakandi and Cachar districts.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) in its report said that more than 4.25 lakh people have been affected in Assam's Hojai, Karbi Anglong East, Karbi Anglong West, Golaghat, Karimganj, Hailakandi, and Cachar districts.
In the meeting, it was informed that an amount of Rs 20 crore in two phases would be spent to undertake relief and restoration works for the marooned people in the two districts.
The CM also asked the state officials to reach out to the marooned people with relief materials and medical aids at the earliest.
While two lives were lost on Wednesday, a 50-year-old farmer was washed away by the Khowai river and his body was recovered from Sonalata area on Thursday.
