Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: The SIT filed the charge sheet almost three months after the incident that took place in Tikunia village of Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh.
The SIT had earlier arrested Vichitra Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Avtaar Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Kamaljeet Singh and Kawaljeet Singh after they were identified as suspects.

The Congress had moved an adjournment notice on the matter and Congress legislature party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona said that the matter was serious because the SIT set up by the government had found that the killing of farmers was 'well planned'.
