The destruction was carried out in the presence of members of the drug disposal committee headed by the additional commissioner, deputy commissioner (disposal) Customs (Prev), HQ Patna and the deputy/assistant commissioner of customs (P) division Motihari, Muzaffarpur and Raxaul.

Earlier, heroin worth Rs 18 crore was seized in Champhai district along with unaccounted cash of Rs 1.21 crore from five Myanmarese nationals, officials said.
According to Assam Riffles officials, the market value of the seized heroin is estimated at Rs 18.30 crore and the unaccounted cash was in the Indian currency notes.
The illegal substance was recovered from Tarn Taran's Wan village by BSF along with the Punjab Police.
