Tripura CM Biplab Deb has announced that the state will force retire insincere employees working in state government jobs. The government will however provide them retirement benefits. The Gujarat government has increased Dearness Allowance (DA) by 3 per cent to 12 per cent from the existing nine per cent or over 9 lakh govt employees and pensioners under 7th Pay Commission recommendations.

The financial burden of Rs 921.54 crore for the hike will be borne by the government and the state will bear 50 per cent of the burden.
The hike will be effected from July 1, 2018. The increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
The labour ministry is now working on a new series of consumer price index for industrial workers (CPI-IW).
The Information Department said that government employees will receive the current month's salary as per the revised rates.
Many of the allowances allocated to Central government employees have been abolished after recommendations by the Committee on Allowances (CoA).
