A total length of 24,800 kilometres of National Highways has been considered in Phase-I as well as 10,000 km residual road works under the NHDP.

The government will try to introduce the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill in the forthcoming session of Parliament, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said Tuesday. The bill, pending approval from the Rajya Sabha, lapsed after the 16th Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die in February.

Taking a jibe at the NYAY scheme of the Congress, Gadkari said the party which could not eliminate poverty in its 60-year rule was now talking of eliminating poverty with the NYAY scheme.

"If Pakistan doesn't stop terrorism, we won't have any other option but to stop river water to Pakistan. So India has started internally studying it. That water will go to Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan,” said Nitin Gadkari.

Gadkari, reportedly, fainted at the hotel. He had reached back Shimla after addressing a public rally at Sangla in Kinnaur.  

The bold stamp was seen on the list of candidates put up at the New Indian English School polling station. Gadkari, who hails from Nagpur, is also the BJP candidate from the constituency.

Gadkari arrived at the polling booth at Town Hall in Mahal area along with his family members, including wife and two sons, around 10 am.

Gadkari said political parties should deliberate on economic policies, developmental issues and increase the level of debate.

Replying to questions from Rajat Sharma in India TV's show "Aap Ki Adalat", recorded in Nagpur today, Gadkari said: "I have full confidence that BJP will get full majority and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister. I have no dreams of becoming PM, nor am I lobbying for that post or approached anybody."
