Rejecting Shiv Sena's criticism of MNS for voting in favour of ruling Congress-NCP alliance in the just-concluded Maharashtra Council polls, its chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday in Mumbai said his move was in favour of his party.

"It is important for me to send my four suspended MLAs back into the Assembly as they were elected by lakhs of voters. It would be injustice with their constituencies if they remain out of the House," he told reporters here.

The MNS legislators were suspended in November last year for attacking Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi in Assembly for not taking oath in Marathi. On MNS legislators voting for Congress in the June 10 polls, Raj said "we took whatever step needed to get  suspension of our four MLAs revoked."

Rubbishing Sena's allegation of vote-for-money during the polls, Raj questioned the Bal Thackeray-led party's stand to support NCP in Pune Municipal Corporation elections.

"Did Sena get money to support NCP in Pune Municipal Corporation polls despite fighting the elections with their ally BJP?" he asked.

Raj asked why Sena, which he left in 2005 to float his own outfit, is silent over MNS's support to them in the municipal council polls in Ambernath in adjoining Thane.

Spelling out his stand, he said "no one is my friend or enemy in politics. I am not bound to anyone and would do things for the good of my party and Marathi people." PTI
