
Mastan fulfilled his dream of becoming rich. He not only got rid of his poverty tag, but also made so much money that he came under the scanner of police and soon he was put behind the bars.
After spending 18 months in jail, Mastan was released. Once all cases against him were resolved, Mastan quit
smuggling and turned his focus towards politics and public welfare.

He married a Bollywood actress Sona and produced films for her. However, he remained a loner all his life and died of a heart attack in 1994.
