Police suspect that the killer first murdered the victim and then tried to dispose of the body in the nullah. But with the water level in the nullah low, the killer may have tried to burn the dead body with petrol, they said.

The autopsy report has revealed that there was a head injury and the face was stabbed at least 40 times with a sharp weapon like a screwdriver.

The way the youth has been killed points to possibility of an illicit affair gone wrong or past rivalry between the deceased and the assailant.
